The Narrow Pressing

№ 0009714003

Common

Winter bird counts — kept in the North Ink stack.

Edition 9,714,003 of 1,000,000,000. 100 shapes, mostly squares, mostly tangerine. It sits in block 18,181, minted with that block's other 4,999 editions, scattered across the billion.

Ink has browned at the edge. Binder Rahman set it down in iron-gall ink, and the sheet shows a hairline tear at the foot.

It is folio 3 of Birch 2, in the Last Range, North Ink stack. The keeper signed it twice.
