The Winter Gauge

№ 0909503003

Common

Winter bird counts — kept in the New Ink stack.

Edition 909,503,003 of 1,000,000,000. 100 shapes, mostly lines, mostly tangerine. It sits in block 91,780, minted with that block's other 4,999 editions, scattered across the billion.

Ink has browned at the edge. Binder Ito set it down in a silver print, and the sheet shows fibers lifted where a label was peeled.

It is folio 3 of Pine 1, in the Last Arcade, New Ink stack. The instrument was recalibrated the next morning.
