River soundings — kept in the North Ink stack.

Edition 8,769,321 of 1,000,000,000. 100 shapes, mostly triangles, mostly sage. It sits in block 1,200, minted with that block's other 4,999 editions, scattered across the billion.

The slip is intact. Clerk Sato set it down in a carbon copy, and the sheet shows fibers lifted where a label was peeled.

It is folio 321 of Willow 7, in the Wide Range, North Ink stack. The instrument was recalibrated the next morning.
