The Pale Receipt

№ 0040404997

Common

Grain weights — kept in the North Oak stack.

Edition 40,404,997 of 1,000,000,000. 100 shapes, mostly triangles, mostly brass. It sits in block 86,428, minted with that block's other 4,999 editions, scattered across the billion.

Filed without a date. Keeper Moreau set it down in letterpress, and the sheet shows fibers lifted where a label was peeled.

It is folio 997 of Birch 1, in the Quiet Cloister, North Oak stack. The instrument was recalibrated the next morning.
