The Salt Seal

№ 0039799997

Common

Winter bird counts — kept in the North Salt stack.

Edition 39,799,997 of 1,000,000,000. 100 shapes, mostly triangles, mostly rust. It sits in block 136,728, minted with that block's other 4,999 editions, scattered across the billion.

Someone numbered it in pencil. Keeper Walsh set it down in needle pricks, and the sheet shows fibers lifted where a label was peeled.

It is folio 997 of Willow 10, in the Last Range, North Salt stack. A marginal arrow points to the folio above.
