The Winter Label

№ 0039306992

Common

Winter bird counts — kept in the North Salt stack.

Edition 39,306,992 of 1,000,000,000. 100 shapes, mostly circles, mostly lilac. It sits in block 81,501, minted with that block's other 4,999 editions, scattered across the billion.

The folio was found out of order. Copyist Khan set it down in a punched card, and the sheet shows fibers lifted where a label was peeled.

It is folio 992 of Alder 1, in the Last Nave, North Salt stack. The instrument was recalibrated the next morning.
