The Folded Proof

№ 0028572303

Common

Winter bird counts — kept in the North Brass stack.

Edition 28,572,303 of 1,000,000,000. 100 shapes, mostly squares, mostly teal. It sits in block 171,148, minted with that block's other 4,999 editions, scattered across the billion.

Ink has browned at the edge. Surveyor Voss set it down in iron-gall ink, and the sheet shows fibers lifted where a label was peeled.

It is folio 303 of Yew 8, in the Wide Arcade, North Brass stack. Two witnesses disagree by a single unit.
