The Folded Letter

№ 0001602997

Common

Furnace temperatures — kept in the North Ink stack.

Edition 1,602,997 of 1,000,000,000. 100 shapes, mostly triangles, mostly tangerine. It sits in block 6,948, minted with that block's other 4,999 editions, scattered across the billion.

Ink has browned at the edge. Night archivist Voss set it down in a wax rubbing, and the sheet shows offset ink from the facing page.

It is folio 997 of Yew 1, in the Long Vault, North Ink stack. The unit of measure was abolished.
